History

The building that Music Unlimited occupies was built in the early 1980s.  Originally it was built to house Don Coley's Video World.  As far as anyone knows, there has been no building in that location before, ever.  We have found no reports of any Native American burial ground in that general area, and are convinced that it has always been simply an open field until the present day building was built.  No one has ever died in the building. There have been no tragic or dramatic events that has ever been reported happening within the building.  This building simply does not have a typical history to have such reports of paranormal activity.

Reports of Paranormal Activity
• Solid objects being moved without explanation.
• Strange noises and footsteps.
• Security system being activated without reason.
• Doors opening, closing and locking apparently by themselves.
• Sensitive persons have commented that they have seen apparitions.

There were reports that even during construction, strange events occurred.  Workers would find completed projects "un-done," assumedly some time during the night while the building was vacant. These events were blamed on vandals. The original owner was injured and hospitalized by a flying 2 X 4 that defied normal explanation.  The employees of the original business started seeing and hearing unexplained occurrences from day one.

The present day employees of today's business are still seeing and hearing very similar things and without any prior knowledge of the strange stories, one young customer stated that he could see an apparition in the store.

Investigation Friday, April 13th, 2007
C.O.P.S. Team Members Present:  Tony, Russell, Conrad, Lindsey, John
Guests: Pat (Responsible party for the property owner),  Robert (Co-responsible party for the property owner) Lori (Reporter from the County Wide News newspaper),  Sharyl (Wife of team member, John)

On Saturday, at approximately 21:30 hours of April 14th, 2007 the Central Oklahoma Paranormal Studies team entered the Music Unlimited business with the guests to the investigation.

After the equipment was set up, everyone exited, and left the building unattended, but locked for approximately an hour.  (Everyone went to the Rainbow Inn Restaurant.)  Upon return, the first group to enter the building was Pat, Robert, Lori, Lindsey, Conrad and leading the group, Russell.

Russell and Lori started out in the front lobby area while Lindsey and Robert went to the warehouse to start IRCs.  Up front, Lori and Russell experienced very little while trying to catalyze a paranormal response.  Even setting up in different locations of the building did little to bring about any responses to questions.  Meanwhile Lindsey and Robert toured the warehouse with EMF and IR and experienced very little during their session.  After 30 minutes both teams switched and began IRCs once more.  Russell and Lori witnessed three unexplained EMF activations around the cellar door.  Locating the source proved difficult, however, and after several minutes of searching, no such source was located.

The second group to enter the building was Pat, Robert, Lori, Conrad, John, Sharyl and leading this group was, Tony.  This group was split in two sub-groups.  Pat, Lori and Tony investigated the front of the building.  Robert, Sharyl and John investigated the back of the building.  Conrad monitored the DVR system.

While in the front half of Music Unlimited Tony's group began I.R.C.'s and initiated knock tests.  They heard on several occasional light and sometimes loud noises all around them. These noises were easily replicated, i.e., the sound of someone tapping on a drum set, but no apparent explantion as to why they happened is available.

John's group began I.R.C.s with no apparent results.  Robert experimented with becoming very animated, emotional, and very vocal with no apparent results.  John and Tony's group swapped places.  Robert continued with the dramatic I.R.C.s which yielded no apparent results.

Everyone then left the building to meet in the parking lot for about 30 minutes.  The team then resumed the session by having everyone break up into two groups.  One thing Lori noticed upon returning inside the building was a chair she was sitting on during the first team's investigation.  When she saw the chair again, a hard plastic brochure stand had been placed on the chair.  All of the employees were asked about it as well as the COPS team, but no one placed the sign there between teams.

COPS began the final sit-down by placing one team in the back/warehouse and one in the front for a final sit-down.  The team simply sat quietly and was attentive to anything that may be occurring.  Russell and Pat heard footsteps on the carpet around them towards the end of the sit-down.  Conrad and Robert heard several clicking noises all around them. Meanwhile in the warehouse John heard crunching noises in the cellar with him.  During this same time the DVR camera caught a green light appear on video.  Tony, Lori, and Sharyl all heard similar noises near the cellar the same time John did, however no EMF activations were recorded during the final sit-down.

COPS was very honored to investigate Music Unlimited and the team would like to thank the owner Jeff Hawkins for allowing the investigation.  COPS would also like to thank Lori Goat from the County Wide News for writing such a terrific story about COPS, Music Unlimited, and the investigation as a whole.
