History
The
County Line BBQ occupies a 1930's building formerly called the
Kentucky Club, a prohibition-era dance hall, gambling place and
bordello. When The Kentucky Club was in it's prime, it served
as location for societies' upper echelon to rendezvous. It
appears as if the Kentucky Club could, if you were a member of the
right society, afford you anything you would like. Moreover,
what is now the County Line BBQ, was reportedly a popular
hangout for outlaw Pretty Boy Floyd. Although the days of illegal
gambling, prostitution and alcohol are long gone, the walls of this
great time capsule seep with history and mystery.
One story of such mystery, albeit
lacking official documentation or records, is that of a young
playboy who was, in a fit of outrage, shot and killed near the
fireplace by an angry husband. Check out P.R.O.S. website for
some interesting EVP's caught near the fireplace. One of
P.R.O.S.'s EVP's says, "Why am I sweating...," and is followed by
"... bullets."
Many customers report seeing
strange sights or hearing unexplainable sounds during their meals.
After hours though, many of those same reports are
substantiated by the staff of The County Line BBQ.
Not only does The County Line
posses some strange occurrences, one can also find some of the best
BBQ in the state! Who knows, if you visit the County Line,
you may have a strange extra guest join you for dinner.

Investigation Saturday, February 24th, 2007
Team Members Present: C.O.P.S. was invited to join P.R.O.S. on this investigation. C.O.P.S. team members present: Tony, Russell, Trey
Under
the direction of PROS, the investigation began with a quick tour of
the building. After acquainting themselves, Lisa and Therin from
PROS, led Russ, Trey and Tony into the basement area. We proceeded
to conduct EVP work and knock tests.
A small group, related to a PROS
member, came to the restaurant for a quick tour. Tony accompanied
this group, again into the basement, with two other team members
from PROS. While there, many members of the group, including Tony
and the PROS members, noticed an odd light that moved in multiple
directions, patterns and changed color and shape. During this time,
two of the ladies there for the tour simultaneously reported
feeling very cold, one on her back and one on her left arm. Tony
took a picture as soon as the two women voiced their feelings. The
picture published below, under findings, directly correlates with
the feelings of the two females.
After the County Line closed its
doors for the evening, the teams divided in two, one group
investigating the main floor and upstairs, the other, the basement.
Both teams choreographed their knock tests and IRC’s (PROS coined
term) so that all team members were in a stationary location for
the duration of the tests, eliminating any false positives. Both
teams experienced USP’s such as people walking in the kitchen area
when no one was there and footsteps on the main floor when one team
was in the basement and the other upstairs.
We would like to thank PROS for
inviting us and also The County Line BBQ staff for being so
hospitable! We hope to return soon!
