The group investigated the area and saw something move near a tree, upon further investigation no evidence of an animal was found but, was not ruled out.  The next area moved to was the cemetery, spending several minutes there the team took several pictures and continued with the voice recorder but, nothing was caught.  The team then decided to conduct a sit down, taking position sitting on the pulpit and facing the front entrance, IRCs were resumed.  Trey stated that there was a presence in the corner to left of the door (pictured below).  The IRCs continued and then Trey stated that the one from the doorway was closer and "red" (pictured below) and that there was another presence in the stairwell to the basement.

As the investigation wound down the team made their way outside with the constant sensation of being watched.  Once outside the team stated they felt as if they were being followed out.

The team arrived around 10 P.M. on a very windy night. Russell was skeptical about running EVP because of all the possible wind contamination that could ensue during playback later. Despite the wind however, two digital recorders were used during the sweeps and sit-downs. The team entered the building, and instantly there was an overwhelming feeling of air pressure inside the church, even with the lack of windows and part of the roof missing. The team swept around the pulpit, the stage, and the two side rooms and took base readings. No anomalous spikes or sounds were heard.

The team headed down into the basement to set up for IRC’s, EVP, and a knock test. Russell stood near the southwest corner with the Handycam for a good shot of everyone in the room. Tony began the standard EVP questions when Lee said he thought something moved passed him. Russell moved the Handycam towards him but was unable to capture anything on film. Tony conducted a knock test, and shortly after Russell heard footsteps behind him in the debris in the corner. Tony and Melissa also heard the footsteps. However, because the wind was blowing extremely hard, many of the sound anomalies the team heard could be considered false positives and will not be considered paranormal at this time. After a brief period of silence the team headed back into the pulpit area to try a new kind of IRC.

Once the team was on the main floor, everyone set up equipment and recorders. C.O.P.S.’s recorder was left on stage with Tony standing on the stage as well. S.P.I.R.I.T.’s recorder was on the main floor next to them. Russell stood against the north wall with the Handycam.

Earlier that week, Tony and Russell were discussing new practices of IRC’s a team could do to initiate a response in an area that could be active. Russell was discussing Blackbear church when he thought of a new type of IRC. Introduce a sermon type atmosphere to the church, such as a hymn or a passage out of the Bible, and a different response could be documented.

After everyone settled in for the second sit-down, Tony began reading a passage out of the Bible. During the reading, the team did notice an increase in wind and air pressure inside the church and it died down after Tony was through reading. Tony began asking EVP questions once more and Russell asked a few questions. After about 15 minutes total, SPIRIT went outside to take pictures of the exterior while Tony and Russell stayed inside sitting on the stage facing the door. It was at this time that both Russell and Tony saw a black shadow run pass the door and disappear. After SPIRIT came back inside, the equipment was packed up and the team concluded the investigation. COPS would like to return to the site when there is little to no wind to verify the sound anomalies everyone heard throughout the night.
